Let's Play Catch-up

Well, It's only been forever since I last posted anything on here. So here's what's been happening:

I officially got married! On July 16th, in an adorable little courthouse ceremony, we said our I do's. It was small (and cheap!) but we're holding off on the big ceremony until next year when we have more money. I'm thinking like Myrtle Beach, SC. Not a whole lot of our family was there so the small one was just for getting married, and the big one is for everyone. Anywho, here's some pictures:

This is when he messed up his vows! :)

It was great. So was the honeymoon. His parent's best friends own a bunch of condos all over the state of Florida, so they gave us a corporate condo in Jacksonville for four days.

In other news:

I moved to California on August 26th! It is great here, just takes a bit of getting used to because it's such a big change from Florida. We live in the middle of the Mojave desert, near Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. The drive out here was beautiful, but once you hit West Texas, it was all desert, and it seemed like it was never going to end. We were supposed to stop in Phoenix for the night to sleep, but my battery decided to die in Van Horn, Texas, so we had to make the haul from Fort Stockton, TX to here. But it's beautiful out here, there's mountains as far as the eye can see, and the sunsets are amazing. As soon as I can snap a picture of one, I'll post it on here. Here's some pictures of the drive out here:

This was somewhere in Florida, I can't remember where.

This is where we stayed in Texas. It was such a cute town!

We FINALLY reached California!!!

The drive was interesting as well. We stopped in Baytown, Texas, and stayed in a Motel 6 for the night. The city was not very nice. It was an oil town, and it was quite obvious. It was smelly and dirty, and the hotel was gross. My towel had a mysterious hair on it (that wasn't mine), and the water was slimy. The smell of mold was so bad that it almost made my dad sick. He doesn't get sick from smells very easily, so that was a real shock. But the next stop in Texas, Fort Stockton, was really nice. It was a teeny tiny town in the middle of Texas, with no towns or cities anywhere near it. It was soooo cute! And the people were amazingly nice. We drove around, and looked at all of the attractions. Their niche is their sillohuettes that they have all over town of the cowboys and indians that used to live there. They were really pretty. They are going through an oil boom right now, so the population of the town swelled hugely. There's models of oil equipment all over town, and in the town square. I've never actually seen a town that had a town square! I loved it. Then in Arizona, we drove through this rock formation that was so huge! The rocks were absolutely huge, and they were just balancing on the other rocks and looked like they were about to fall. It was amazing! When we finally made it to California, we were stopped at an Agricultural station. I guess they were checking that no one was bringing in any illegal fruits and veggies. I think they were also looking for illegal aliens, because they asked us both if we were American citizens. All I could think was "If I wasn't an American citizen, do you think that I would tell you that I wasn't?" But I didn't say that. Daddy and I were both so relieved to get out of the car and finally be in California. And getting to finally see Darren was so defintely worth the wait. It was the greatest. I still can't believe that I am finally living out here with him, actually being a married couple. The last couple months haven't felt like we were really married, because we haven't been together. But we are now, and it is wonderful!

Well, now that I have caught up with everything that has happened, I guess that this post has gotten long enough. I really ought to start posting more often, so that I don't have to post all of these enormous posts. Until next time.......
