I haven't written in forever and ever, and a lot has happened 'round these parts. I changed my major for the 809750346th time, and this time, for the first time, it feels right. I am now a Finance major with a minor in Economics. I love math, and numbers, and I am genuinely good with working with money, so the logical thing to do would be to roll them all into a major that I can actually accomplish. I have also changed my transfer university, because California is the most retarded state in the entire U.S. when it comes to getting into college. I am going to University of North Carolina Wilmington next fall!!! That means I will be out of this pit in August of 12!! Oh dear God, I can't even believe I will be moving in a year. And Darren will be following me 2 months after that!
When Darren gets back, he is applying to police academies in Wilmington and Raleigh, and whoever accepts him is where we are moving. I am sooooooo proud of him! He is going to be an amazing police officer. I can't wait!
On a not-so-happy note, Darren was busted down to a PFC about 2 weeks ago, on a charge that he was already brought up on. Which is double jeapardy, even to the military. So needless to say, we are going to be engaged in a probably endless legal battle when he comes home, because he needs to appeal the decision, and hopefully get the assholes who did it to him kicked out of the Corps. More than likely won't happen, but hey, a girl can dream can't she?
But he is doing really well in Afghanistan, and time is going by very fast, thank the Lord. We are down to around three months!! I can't believe it's already been 4 months!!
I finally got the house furnished, and it is starting to look pretty amazing! All I need is to get the kitchen and bathrooms decorated, and get some pictures on the walls, and it will look fabulous!!
My mother-in-law is coming in on Sunday. And I am super excited about it! The last three months of the deployment, I have family coming in every month, so it will go by really fast.
There's probably a ton more that I am forgetting, but for now, that is all. I'm going to try to keep up this blog a little better. We'll see how successful I will be at it. Tootles!

Drum roll please...
Ok so this is seriously big news for the tiny Bolling family..........
We have a kitchen table!!!!!!!!
So no one actually knows how I moved to this great state called California (ha). I shoved everything that I could in the backseat and trunk of a (very tiny) Hyundai Tiburon GT. For those who don't know, it is a very small (albeit FAST) sports car. Yea, you read right. this was my car.....
Can you imagine trying to fit 22 years into this thing????? Well I can tell ya, it ain't easy. So when I moved out here, Darren and I literally had NOTHING. Well, in a matter of 10 months, we have managed to accumulate three, count em, THREE couches, a bed, a fridge, a bookcase, tv stand, night stands, and one toolbox (that was in the KITCHEN of our last house. Gotta love the husband). And now......a table!!!!!!!! Gah! This day has been loooooooong awaited. Just figured I'd share. Because I'm the shit. :) Ok done with the nerd post.

Things are starting to look up!
We got the house!!! It is super small (like as in the kitchen is pretty much nonexistent), but it is only 425 a month, and water is included, so its gonna save us a ton of money between gas, water, and rent. And since our roommate decided not to pay rent this payday, we can't live with someone who is going to randomly decided when he is and is not going to pay rent. It's a one bedroom and one bath, and since it's so much smaller than the place that we're in now, we're not going to have to pay for as much furniture. We get to sign the lease on Monday, and on the first of November we get to move in! I really am excited, but until I find a job, it's going to be super tight in terms of money. But hopefully someone from the four million jobs I applied for will call me back. Keep your fingers crossed!
In other news, Darren comes back from the field on Sunday! It's lonely without him around, and having no friends in this place. I can't wait! I don't think that he will be here to help me move, but I think one of his friends might be willing to help me out. I hope so, anyways. Well, anyways, that's the recent events in my life; now I have to get back to my soul sucking homework. Grrr. One day, one day.

Its gotta get worse before it gets better...right?
I literally don't think I've ever been this low in my entire life. It's one thing after another after another after another. I can't seem to catch a break since I moved out here. We lost the house. The lady told us that it was ours when we looked at it and that she would see us on the 1st of November. Then she turns around a couple weeks later and gives me some crap excuse of us not being prepared enough to rent the house, so she "is just going to have to back out." WTH??? I wouldn't have minded, except that after we looked at the house, I gave our landlord our 30 day notice. So now I have to be out of this house by the third, and I don't have a house to move into. I looked at one today, and put a down payment on it to hold it for two weeks; lets just hope we pass the credit check and can get moved in. Not to mention all of the money problems, car problems (the Tiburon finally died and we had to get a new one. New car means new debt.), and the sheer fact that Darren isn't home because he is on a field op, and you can pretty much sum it up in a nutshell that I think I am officially depressed. I've never been depressed before (and therefore am not qualified to diagnose myself, that's just what it feels like), and neither like nor want the feeling being here. It pretty much sucks the big one. I just want to get out of my slump. UGH. Hurry up and get my degree so I can get my job (or any job ever in this complete hellhole), and get out of California. Or at least get a friend that I can spend the next three years here with. That would at least make it bearable when Darren isn't here. I just want to go home.

So Yeaaaaa...
Apparently one of the perks of getting married and having absolutely nothing to either of your names, is that you have no furniture either. At this point in our marriage, we officially have a bed, a couple of lawn chairs that my father graciously bought us because we had nothing to sit on, and a couple of outdoor end tables. The couch was bought secondhand from another Marine stationed at Twentynine Palms, and it's really comfortable, but it's a hideous color. Like maroon gone really bad. But me being the amazing decorator that I am (HA!) I bought a mocha colored couch cover from Amazon.com that is really cute. This will transform our otherwise-bare living room, I can feel it.
I really am jealous of those people who get married in their hometowns, and then settle down there, and then proceed to have like the last four generations of their families give them everything they need. I know if we lived in Fernandina, or Swansboro, that our families and their friends would give us everything. But we're not that lucky, so we're reduced to buying from thrift stores and 29palmsyardsales.com. But I have figured out that if you look hard enough and often enough, you can find really good stuff there! It really is true that one man's trash is another man's treasure (supposing that you have the funds to make it your treasure).
Well, we're off to find some bedroom furniture to make our bedroom look more like a bedroom, instead of just a really cheap storage facility.
